Experience:

     Mr. Palmer’s practice primarily focuses on Banking, Real Estate and Municipal Law.  He is a member of the panel of attorneys appointed to represent indigent criminal defendants in the U.S. District Court for the Central District.

 

     Before joining Evans, Froehlich, Beth & Chamley, Mr. Palmer worked at the John Marshall Law School while pursuing his LL.M. degree in International Trade and Business Law.  He worked as the law school’s China Student Ambassador serving as the student advisor to the Asian Alliance and coordinating and tutoring visiting Chinese nationals to the school including judges, attorneys and government officials.  Mr. Palmer’s work took him to China in the summers of 2004 and 2005 to study Chinese law and work as a research assistant at the East IP law firm and a teaching assistant at the China State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) in Beijing.

 

     During law school, Mr. Palmer clerked for a downtown Chicago law firm and for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in the Narcotics Prosecution Division.  In addition, he worked as a researcher for three years in the Chicago corporate office of Spencer Stuart, an executive search firm.  Previously, Mr. Palmer worked as a police officer for the City of Champaign prior to moving to Chicago for law school.

 

     Mark was raised in Champaign and is a second generation attorney (Charles L. Palmer, father).  Mark graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1999, The John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 2005 and the Police Training Institute at the University of IllinoisMark resides in Champaign, Illinois.
